Cute update for where Kat and Brady are. Izzy as always is both adorable and bit of trouble maker - even at age two.

Review: Shameless

Shameless Shameless by Lex Martin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Final Score - 5 Stars!

This was my first book by Lex Martin and what a book to start with!  I was hooked from start to end ... it was just that fabulous a read.  I'm a sucker for stories where two people are thrust together under the worst of circumstances, yet find in each other a kindred soul.

Brady and Kat - adore them!  Both are at that point in their lives - you know the one, that feeling of being a crossroad and not clearly knowing which direction to take.  There backgrounds are so different from each other, yet they two lost souls fit so perfectly together. The connection between them is palpable - electric and smokin' hot.

Gah ... I couldn’t put this book down, I doubt you will be able to as well.  I highly recommend you read this story.  See for yourself the passion and chemistry that draws them together.  See it change from employer/employee to genuine friendship.  Then deepen into a real relationship that grows into something more, despite all odds staked up against them.  Distance cannot hold them back!

Review: Hold on Tight

Hold on Tight Hold on Tight by J. Kenner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score - 4.5 Stars!

Spencer and Brooke have a shared past of pain, but also of a once in a lifetime kind of love.  Circumstances and her father separated them and now they are forced to work together.  Brooke walked away from the man she loved and Spencer wants her to pay for making that choice.  However, neither can deny that the flames of desire are still there ... could love still be factor as well?

Will true love prevail?  After five years apart, is the chemistry that drew them together enough give them selves a second chance?

This is the second book in the Man of the Month series and it is chalk full of laughter, tears, pain, humor and sexy times!

InkSlinger PR Hosted Blog Tour w/Review for BAD FOR YOU by J. Daniels!

"If you're a fan of Kristen Ashley, then you will love this book." -Aestas Book Blog on Four Letter Word

He didn't want to be bad. He just didn't have a choice...

Shayla Perkins isn't the kind of girl who makes the same mistake twice, especially when it comes to Sean "Stitch" Molina. So when he gives her the world's biggest rejection, that's it--she's done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer. Of course, it still doesn't mean he's interested in her. Or does it?

Sean has done things in life. Bad things. And he's paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. And no one deserves more good than Shay. Beautiful on the inside and out, Shay is the kind of woman who should be cared for and protected--especially from a man like Sean. He's tried to keep his feelings for her in check, but a single, reckless impulse pulls them closer than ever before.

Soon the two are sharing their biggest dreams and satisfying their deepest desires. But what will happen if the only way to truly give each other what they want most...is to let each other go?

"The perfect mix of funny, hot and heartwarming. I enjoyed it immensely!" --Mia Sheridan, New York Times bestselling author, on Four Letter Word

Final Score - 5 My Heart is Aching, Yet Full Stars!

Sean (or Stitch as he’s better known as) is an ex-con trying to just make a new start for himself. He's driven to put the past behind and move forward from the mistakes he's made in life. He's new start is as a cook at Whitecaps, the local diner. Stitch has always been the background, never getting close to any of the staff, but he's immediately taken with Shayla, a waitress at the diner. But he can't get too close, cause if she finds out who he really is, she may just walk away. After all, that's all he's known in his life.

Shayla is more than what she seems. Her waitress job is just so she can pay the bills and pursue her greater passion: hair-styling. She wants make her business succeed as she is both hard working & determined. She's also a woman who loves her family and her friends - to pieces and will ride and die with the best of them - Stitch included. You see, Shayla is interested in Stitch, but Stitch is not reciprocating.

Bad for You is the third book in the Dirty Deeds series by J. Daniels. Each book just keeps getting better and better! This is by the best one and the most anticipated one, if I do say so myself.

This story is pure magic and shows the power of not only persistence, but of true love and all it's wonder. I love stories of co-workers finding love with one another. They start off as co-workers and progress to friends - albeit reluctantly. Shayla and Stitch's relationship was a slow build, and it needed to be as the anticipation was heighten so much so, if we didn't see the background of their relationship form, I felt they wouldn't have a true HEA.

Bad for You made me laugh out loud, sob and weep in a corner rocking myself slowly, and angry at the events which shaped a young man's life. But in the end, you be better for having read through it to the end. J. Daniels has out done herself with her writing. I was completely immersed in it from the beginning to the end. Words can hurt and words can heal, but this book gives hope that somewhere out there, some will listen and be mindful of how they speak, especially to someone who is so young and innocent as a child.

J.Daniels is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Sweet Addiction series, the Alabama Summer series, and the Dirty Deeds series.

She would rather bake than cook, she listens to music entirely too loud, and loves writing stories her children will never read. Her husband and children are her greatest loves, with cupcakes coming in at a close second.

It should have been easy.
I needed the money. He needed a babysitter to keep him from snorting himself to death.
I was cherry-picked especially for him. Responsible. Optimistic. Warm. Innocent.
The worst part is that I should have known better.
Alex Winslow. British rock star. Serial heartbreaker. Casanova with whiskey eyes.
“Don’t get near the devil in a leather jacket. He’ll chew you up and spit you out.”
Sounds familiar? That’s because it was a headline in a tabloid the second time he got arrested.
Guess what? I didn’t listen.
I signed the contract.
World tour. Three months. Four Continents. One hundred shows.
My name is Indigo Bellamy, and I sold my soul to a tattooed god.
Problem was, my soul wasn’t enough for Alex Winslow. He ended up taking my body, too.
Then he took my heart.
Then he took my all.
Excerpt:

Nat’s words came back and haunted me like a bad haircut from the eighties. An irrational need to check the goods took over me. It wasn’t like he minded. According to the rumors, his dick had seen more cameras than Kendall Jenner. Slowly—so painfully slowly—my eyes drifted down his sinewy body. I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Whatever I had in mind, though, didn’t come close to the real thing. Thick, long but not atrocious. With thin veins running through its length.

“Nice view?” he groaned, tucking his junk back into his briefs. His profile was glorious. Strong jaw, pouty lips, eyes like sex…

My eyes snapped up when I realized he was talking to me. “I wasn’t…”

“Looking? Yes, you were. Next time take a picture. It lasts longer.” He rolled his zipper upward and flushed the toilet with the toe of his boot. He turned around and squirted soap into his palm, washing his hands almost violently—rubbing between each finger and scratching his knuckles like he wanted to shed his own skin. When he was done, he looked around for a towel.

I cleared my throat, scrambling to regain my wits. “Longer than the glimpse or longer than your performance?”

Casually—so unbearably casually—he wiped his wet hands over my purple dress. I gasped, moving sideways. It looked like he was about to open the door and get out, but before I had the chance to yell at him for using me as a human towel, he slammed me against the wall, bracing both his arms above my head and pinning me to my spot. I let out a shriek of surprise at the sudden proximity.

Alex Winslow is touching me. Willingly, my surprisingly pitiful brain squealed.

Heat rolled off his body, making my back arch and my breath catch in my throat.

“Let’s make one thing clear—I could fuck you to a point of numbness without even breaking a sweat if I wanted to. Now, careful, New Girl. If you don’t keep your distance from me, I think I just might.”

MIDNIGHT BLUE ... you have ruined me! This is one book I would LOVE to give 10 Stars to if I could!

While reading this book, my thoughts and emotions were all over the place. I wanted to review it last night, but I needed to gather my thoughts together. However, this book had my head spinning all night long and I couldn't stop my mind from over thinking things. It was a restless night ...

This book was overflowing with wry wit, drama worthy angst, insufferable cruelty, impossible to deny chemistry and laugh out loud antics - all at the hands of Rock God Alex Winslow. But what happens when you add to this kind of crazy ... an innocent, empathetic, just trying to hold it together pixie? Who hasn't experienced more than their fair share of personal tragedy? Who still manages pick themselves up and dust themselves off to face day after day with optimism and strength? Who do you know who would sacrifice their own happiness?

LJ Shen has done it again - sucked me into her books, carved out a placed in my heart for her characters and left me in want of more. I haven't been let down by style of writing and I've never been disappointed in the outcomes. This poetic love story about a girl who has suffered through life's greatest challenges and a broken addict shell of a man who desperately needs a lifeline thrown at him sure to lead you on one hell of a rollercoster ride of emotions!

About LJ Shen:

L.J. Shen is an International #1 best-selling author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She lives in Northern California with her husband, young son and chubby cat.

Before she’d settled down, L.J. (who thinks referring to herself in the third person is really silly, by the way) traveled the world, and collected friends from all across the globe. Friends who’d be happy to report that she is a rubbish companion, always forgets peoples’ birthdays and never sends Christmas cards.

She enjoys the simple things in life, like spending time with her family and friends, reading, HBO, Netflix and internet-stalking Stephen James. She reads between three to five books a week and firmly believes Crocs shoes and mullets should be outlawed.

Review: The Bastard's Bargain

The Bastard's Bargain The Bastard's Bargain by Katee Robert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score - 4.5 Stars!

I have hated Dmitri Romanov since his introduction several books back. He embodied everything that is hateful, so much so I wanted him dead.  However, I have to admit I was a bit intrigued that he was going to have his own book.  Frankly speaking, I wanted to know what made him tick and why he was the way he was.  This book didn't give me answers per say, but I felt I got to know Dmitri better.  What I found is that not every thing is black and white - there is a lot of grey.  It's in the grey that Dmitri not only resides, but works from as well.

He can come across as the devil - evil incarnate, but he's also so much more.  Especially when it comes to Kiera.  I won't spoil it by giving a play by play of what happens, but I will say this - it was a long arduous journey and the end result is nothing short of a beautiful.

Katee Robert knows how to make it easy for one and all to love a bad boy. Dimitri is the kind of man that is used to being in control of everything and everyone in his life.   But Keira isn't one to simply bow down and play along with having her life dictated to her.  I loved that about her.  She wanted to play the game as well - to be master of her own fate.  That takes some serious guts, especially in light of who her father and family are.  It was empowering to see her come into her own and be on the same level as Dmitri.  I even suspect that he enjoyed it way more than it seemed.

The best was most definitely saved for last!  Thank you Ms. Robert for such an engrossing saga - I never wanted the O'Malleys to fade away, but if they have to so be it.  The only thing I would change would be epilogue ... I'd love to see where the family is at in a few years time.

InkSlinger PR Hosted Release Blitz for XO, ZACH by Kendall Ryan!

The first time we met was at a party.

Your ex arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date.

I was more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty--and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days.

The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing.

The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact.

I know I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that's the only reaction I can get out of you, I'll gladly take it.

You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week.

I think I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. I know that I'm only supposed to be your adviser and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think you're falling for me too.

xo, Zach

Final Score - 5 Heavenly Stars!

I have to admit, I wasn't sure how this would play out - whether it would be love and first sight, hate at first sight, or lust at first sight ... but in the end it didn't matter because Zach Austin and Poppy Ellis were #destined4eachother.

XO, Zach is chalk full of endearing hearts, lots of heated passion and tons of non-stop humor. You have been warned - you WILL both laugh and cry at the same time.

Zach and Poppy "meet" at a party - well, actually they don't so much as get introduced. Looking across the room after seeing her ex with her newest Gf, Poppy walks up Zach and asks to pretend to be her date. Charmed by her boldness, he agrees. During the course of the evening, they not only have a fun evening together, but discover they have alot in common. However, they part ways ... leaving it up chance/fate/circumstance as to decide if they should see each other again. And they do ... just not in the way either would have predicted - you see, Poppy is a master's student and Zach is her advisor.

I absolutely, 100 percent feel in love with the storyline and the dual POV of both Zach and Poppy. We learn so much about them their inner monologues. Their fears, their desires, what makes Poppy and Zach - well, Poppy and Zach. Their friends and family brought patience and understanding as to why their relationship could potentially be a sticky situation to for them both, with all giving their two-cents worth. No one more so than Zach’s mother! I adore her candor and bluntness. A woman after my own heart!!

The banter and chemistry between Zach and Poppy was tangible and leapt off the page as soon as their eyes connected across the floor. I was drawn in and couldn't stop reading until the end. This book showed a natural progression of their relationship and the seriousness of each of their situations without being contrite.

XO, Zach is GOLD and fans or new readers of Kendall Ryan's books will be sure to enjoy!

Review: Broken Beautiful Hearts

Broken Beautiful Hearts Broken Beautiful Hearts by Kami Garcia
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Final Score - 5 Mended Hearts Stars!

The story starts off with an incident of domestic violence.  No matter how you look at it, a relationship that was once strong and solid is forever altered by this.  Appearances can be deceiving and wolves sometimes do hide in sheep's clothing.

Peyton is on the fast track to realizing her dream - being a division 1 athlete at UNC for soccer. Her acceptance letter in hand, she has great friends she wants to share the news with - none so more than her boyfriend.  Once considered to be the perfect, ideal boyfriend ... of a late, Reed's entire demeanor has changed.  He’s keeping a dangerous secret.  Once she finds out, Peyton feels she has no choice but to break up with him.   But what happens next is something no one could have foreseen.  The end result is that she moves to Tennessee to live with her uncle and cousins. It’s there she meets Owen.

I liked how Peyton handled herself and the events that she was confronted with.  She was strong and courageous and stood up for herself and for others.  What I really enjoyed was the slow start of her relationship with Owen.  They truly were friends first before becoming romantically involved.   I admire her also for sticking to her guns and not letting Reed talk his way back into her life, like so many girls do when they break up with their boyfriends.

I hope that other readers will enjoy this story.  This story is about healing from wounds - both superficial and physical, new beginnings and new relationships, and also of letting go of things that are out of your control and acceptance.  Life can sometimes leave you broken and battered down, but it can also surprise you in the most unexpected beautiful ways.  I was really excited to be selected to review this book, my first by this author.  While I have most of Kami Garcia’s books (Beautiful Creatures series), this is the first time I've actually read one by her. What an honor to be introduced to her style of writing - sharp, passionate, and thoughtful.

We are thrilled to bring you the cover from New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward. Gentleman Nine releases on February 19th!

Cover designer: Letitia Hasser, RBA designs
Cover Model: Lucas Garcez
Cover Photography: Sven Jacobsen

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

Growing up, the three of us were friends.
He was the nerd.
I was the playboy.
She was the beauty.

Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits.
He lied.

I went off to college, and he got the girl.
Amber never knew how I felt.
They were together for years—before he broke her heart.

Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch.
When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.

Still reeling from her breakup, she’d sworn off men.
One night, I opened her computer to find the shock of my life. She’d hesitantly contacted a male escort company. Afraid to date and get her heart broken again, she was looking for sex with no strings.
Every emotion imaginable ran through me: protectiveness, jealousy—curiosity.
Amber had chosen Gentleman Number Nine and sent him a message.
She opened up to him, confessing, among other things, her physical attraction to her friend— me. But she considered me off-limits—and she thought I was a manwhore. (Ironic, considering the circumstances.)
Eventually, she set up a date to meet Gentleman Nine at a hotel.
When she showed up several nights later to meet him, she got the surprise of her life to see me standing there—with an offer I hoped she wouldn’t refuse.
