Mel and Xander's story was a great start. Did not care for cliffhanger "ending". Even though I know this is not the end, I felt the reasoning behind Mel's disapperance and eventual 6 yr absence didn't make sense.

Hopefully, I will learn more in the concluding book as to why she actually left and how they went from lover's to enemies.
