Review: The Seven Rings

The Seven Rings The Seven Rings by Nora Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Final Score - 4.5 Stars!

I don't know how to feel about this one.  The story unfolded well enough and I was still intrigued about where this would go. I was so vested in the finale, but it kinda left me with a "blah" ending.

I'm going to have to re-read this again before publication to have a better handle on my feeling and write a review then.

Thoughts on the finale: I did not like the ending. At all.  All this build-up and for it all to end in a whisper?  That's what it felt like.  There was no real sense of danger. I wasn't repeating "OMG" to my self during the climax and that to me is what a thriller should do. Have you hang on the edge of your seat to see where this adventure would take you. And I'm seriously disappointed that this didn't live up to that for me.  Hester Dobbs is such a good villain but in the end, she didn't leave a lasting impression of terror or fear in me, as most other villians I read do.

All in all, I averaged out the review scores from the 1st book of the series, to this one and that's how I came up with this final score. While I love Ms. Roberts writing and her books line the shelves of my bookcases, I think I may need to leave this one off.
