My Fallen Saint by J. Kenner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Final Score - 4 Stars
Oh Devlin ...
When someone you love and trust breaks that in the cruelest of ways, I'm a firm believer in "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!" I did not like or find anything redeemable with the Hero - there are still secrets he's keeping and quite frankly, after everything he put Ellie through, there's just no guarantee that he won't do it again. I quite frankly couldn't understand how/why Ellie would EVER forgive him, let alone let him back into her life. Love must truly be blind here, but I'm sorry, no. No, NO! I can't let someone who shaped my life and its eventual course back in and just blindly accept that he will be truthful from now on. There will always be that question in the back of mind and for me - those questions would drive me mad.
I did enjoy the secondary characters - especially Brandy. Brandy is everyone's BFF who truly has their back.
The chemistry between Devlin and Ellie is steamy, but with the underlining tension of hidden truths and deception - I just don't see how this relationship can survive long term.
