I've come to expect a certain type of a book from L. J. Shen ... and I'm never disappointed in what she puts out. Everything story she creates, every character she breathes life into - I want more! More ... MORE ... MORE!!! If she's a drug - I want to be addicted to her - LEGIT.
In this story, we meet Jude Humphrey. Recent college grad, Chucks enthusiast, unemployed and she's just found her boyfriend in a compromising position with his editor. Needless to say, this day is not looking any better than the previous ones. Enter Celian Laurent. Wealthy, cocky, and he's about to rock Jude's world like it's 1999. Oh yeah, LET THE GOOD TIME ROLL!
This book has so many layers - its more than just your typical wealthy man saves unemployed female troupe. There's drama, sarcastic/flirty banter, power struggles, sick parents (literally & figuratively), but at the core of these the slow burn romance between Celian & Jude. One is a believer that love cannot exist for them ... the other just simply believes there is no such thing as love.
I love how these two proved the other wrong. This book is phenomenal and I have to say with each release, L.J. Shen out does herself with the complexity of her characters and the stories she weaves to life. The book is #oneclick worthy and if your so inclined - get the paperback as well! You won't regret it and you too will be mesmerized and stuck to your e-reader from beginning to end ... I kid you not! The storyline just that captivating.
