Review: After You

After You After You by Stephanie Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Final Score - 5 I'm Emotionally Spent Stars!

After You is an emotional, yet beautiful love story of finding love again in the aftermath of tragedy.

Ellie lost her husband five years ago and is now raising her son alone. She has closed herself off to ever finding love again, as she feels it would be betraying her late husband's memory - who is still very much alive to her.

Nick knew Ellie was it for him from the moment he saw her - there was spark there that couldn't be denied. They had a very brief encounter once in the past and now have run into each other again. But Nick's been hurt by love too and is wary of starting something with a widow who clings to her husband's memory.

WARNING: have the tissues handy! This had me crying more than once, as it's told in dual POVs, which was perfect both understanding where Nick & Ellie came from. It also gives a deeper insight into the struggles both Nick and Ellie are facing & feeling. Ellie’s guilt, while misplaced, was palpable, yet honest. Nick’s frustration could be felt through the words on the page.

Ms. Rose has definitely written the real and raw and honest emotions of not only finding love the first time, but loosing it and finding it again.

This is one second chance at love story you won't want to miss. It will have you in #AllTheFeels towards both Ellie and Nick - and you will be left smiling at the sweet, perfect brought together HEA.
