THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT STORY, from beginning to end!!!

Lily certainly lived up to the build up from Violet & Rose's stories... or did she?

As I knew - or better said, had a feeling - Lily would be the misplaced, misunderstood sister of the trio. Violet was her father's protege. Rose was the baby. Lily naturally would the troubled child, typically reserved for the middle child, but in this case the oldest of the family had lots of not only Daddy issues, but Mommy ones as well.

It was refreshing to read this story from both Lily's POV and Max's. You could relate to the head space each of these characters were in - what they've dealt with, the knocks life has thrown at them, to come out on the other side. Stronger. Survivors. Although neither of them consider themselves to be.

I was engrossed with this book, although life did get in the way. Whatever free time I had was reserved for this book. Even if it was a 10 min break from work - I had this book in my hand and I was reading! At times, I had to force myself to put it down to tackle my chores. Monica Murphy definitely saved the best sister... for last!

And everyone should have a champion in their corner like Max. The relationship - granted it didn't start out on the most honest or conventional of terms - will leave you breathless... panting for the next word, sentence, paragraph, chapter!

This will definitely be put on my TBRR (To Be Re-Read list) and will definitely be shared by word of mouth to friends & family.
