Review: A Steel Heart

A Steel Heart A Steel Heart by Amie Knight
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Final Score - 5 Stars!

In A Steel Heart, we meet Miranda - the best friend of the characters from See Through Heart. She's lives her life just the way she wants it - even if that includes a bit of being a peeping Tom to the dreamy neighbor next door.

And that dreamy neighbor is Holden Steel - an ex-Army Ranger who is struggling, both physically and emotionally, to come to terms with the tragic losses he experience on his last deployment. He's also desperately trying to adjust to civilian life.

I love the dueling dynamic personalities between these two. Holden is angry, frustrated, and tormented by grief. Miranda is perky, cheerful, optimistic and can hold her own when put up against Holden's gruffness. Miranda sort of forces her way into Holden's life as she senses that Holden needs to be healed and brought back to life - and she's just the person to do so.

Filled with snark, laughter, tears, and some of the most fantastic banter, A Steel Heart is sure to STEAL YOUR HEART - see what I did there? *wink* Their mutual attraction sizzles on every page and every moment they are in each other's presence, you can't help but wonder - is it going to go down? And when?! They flirt, fight and tease, and bicker and all the while, their emotional connection to each other grows. It's a beautiful thing to see and read.

This is a beautifully unfolding love story. This book is a follow up from See Through Heart, though it can easily be a standalone piece. It's realistic, charming, comical and I felt each characters emotion on every page I read. This is definitely not one to be missed! I loved this book and was completely enthralled from the very beginning – to it's inevitable end. I just couldn’t put the book down.
